FAQ

How long does my hair need to be for waxing?

Your hair needs to be 1/4 an inch long, length of a grain of rice or pinchable with the tip of your fingers (not your finger nails). If the hair is not long enough when you come in for your service, I can't guarantee that all the hairs will be able to be picked up by the wax.

What do I need to do to prepare for a wax service?

  1. Make sure that your hair is long enough
  2. Exfoliate and moisturize your skin
  3. Hydrate by drinking lots of water
  4. Take an ibuprofen if you are worried about pain

How do I care for my wax at home?

  1. Exfoliate every few days. I always recommend a sugar or salt scrub. Apply on dry skin before your shower to make it more scrubby. Avoid using loofas or old wash clothes, as they harbor bacteria and can increase your chances of ingrowns. I sell a sugar scrub which is great for exfoliating and combatting the growth of ingrowns.
  2. Beware that tight fitting clothes, such as leggings or non breathable fabrics can increase your chance of ingrowns.
  3. Use a moisturizer daily. Something that is paraben and fragrance free. I always recommend coconut oil with a few drops of tea tree oil. This will act not only as a great moisturizer, but an antibacterial as well. I also have products in the salon if you would like more home care options. We want to keep those hair follicles free of bacteria.
  4. Be regular with your waxes. Every 3-5 weeks is best.
  5. Avoid tanning, exercise, hot tubs and intercourse for the first 24 hours

How long will my wax last?

Everyone's hair grows at different rates. What I can guarantee is that it comes in fewer, sparse, and softer. You'll slowly begin to see hairs here and there grow back within the first couple of weeks. When you come back in around 4 weeks it's usually about half as much hair as your initial visit. This makes it half as painful and easier for both you and me!

What kind of wax do you use?

I use only hard wax. It is great for all skin types and especially sensitive skin to ensure that the waxing is as painless and as comfortable as possible. Hard wax adheres only to the hairs, not the skin. I use only the best quality wax with the best ingredients on the market.

What if I find a couple of missed hairs after my wax?

I try my best to never let this happen, but it can happen unfortunately. I offer touch ups within the 5 days after your wax appointment. Don't feel bad to ask for a touch up if needed! (No free touch ups after 5 days). It is normal to have a few hairs on occasion pop up from under the skin. the may have been trapped under the skin prior to exfoliating with the wax or a new growth cycle coming in.

POLICIES

I pride myself on great customer service. To do so, sometimes I need a little help from my guests. Below are a couple of guidelines that I have.

  • There is a 10 minute late policy. If you are 10 minutes late or more, I have the right to refuse service.

  • You must wear a tampon or menstrual cup if you are getting a bikini service and it's that time of the month.

  • Please show up to your service clean and ready to be waxed and tanned.

  • Just as I have a 10 minute late policy for you, there will be times where I fall behind as well for various circumstances. So please be understanding.

  • If you no show your appointment, I will be asking for a down payment of 50% for your next scheduled services.

  • If there is ever an issue, please contact me directly. I would be more than happy to help or figure out a solution.

  • No same day appointments
